At Born in Water we are committed to natural childbirth and natural parenting. We believe it is best for you, your child and the planet.
As part of that commitment Born in Water offers birthing pools for water birth to rent in Bath, Bristol, Wiltshire and nationwide. You don't need water to give birth without drugs but there is no doubt that water can make birth a much easier, more relaxed and supported experience.
We believe we have chosen the most practical, efficient and state of the art pools available on the market at the moment and we hope you agree.
Rachel Stacey, owner of Born in Water who lives near Bath has given birth in water. She experienced for herself how fantastic and fulfilling it can be to bring your baby into the world gently and fully conscious without the need for drugs or unnecessary medical intervention.
Mara Rose was born 1st September 2005, near Bath to Rachel and Dean at home in a birthing pool. This experience was an amazing one for them all. Mara came into the world from her space into water in a relaxed, cosy environment. Her Daddy took her slowly out of the water and placed her onto her mummy. It was truly a wonderful experience which they want to give everyone the opportunity to have. It was so normal to them all to be in the environment they had chosen, their home.
We hired the pool from the siu-ming who used to own the company and was based in Bristol. When Mara was a few months old Siu-Ming was selling the business and I felt it was something I felt so passionate about that I decided to give up teaching and do this instead. It is was the best decision I have ever made. I am able to share my wonderful experience with others.
Since doing this I have also become involved in the Bristol Home birth Group and I have re launched the Bath Home Birth group with some close friends. It is the most enjoyable job I have ever done. I can work from home near Bath, bring up my children and talk to many women about pregnancy and birth choices. I work mostly in Bath, Wiltshire and Bristol, but often hire nationwide.
I have now recently had my third child, William born in February 2009. he was also born in the relaxed environment of our home with one of our heated birthing pools. It was a truly wonderful experience.
For the vast majority of women birth is a normal and natural process. Our bodies will do the job superbly well if given the very small encouragement of healthy living and a supportive, private and safe environment to give birth in.
